The Curriculum Structure
In implementing Curriculum 2018, BAGB conducts regular changes (scientific material updates prior to lecturing activities) and/or changes based on the earlier stated references. The activities resulted from the changes are as follows:
- Revising module description of OBE based courses
- Revising description module using collaborative-participatory method
- Revising materials related to industrial revolution 4.0 (big data literacy, technology literacy and HR literacy) in relevant courses
- BAGB added elective courses to be taken in semester 4 or 6, namely “English for Business” and added 1 English class, as suggested by the AUN-QA certification assessor regarding the lack of English-language courses although one of the ASP’s visions in 2025 is to be an international standard study program
- BAGB added elective courses in semester 4 or 6 including Horticultural Plant Production Technology, Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Production Technology, Plantation Plant Production Technology, Climatology, Introduction to Landscape Architecture, Agroforestry, Land Resources Information System or GIS and Soilless Cultivation, as suggested by the Curtin University Australia curriculum consultant, Prof. Dr. Peter. J. Batt, to add agricultural cultivation competence and agricultural technology literacy.
- Thus, there are 28 units (84 credits) of elective courses are being provided (table 2.)
- The curriculum 2018 is offered to students with two (2) educational paths, such as regular path and MBKM path (figure 1.). The regular pathway is intended to improve the competence on general knowledge and skills, while the MBKM path is intended to improve the competence on attitudes, specific skills and applied courses. List of lesson plans for recognition of MBKM learning.
- BAGB creates MBKM elective courses based on soft skills competence, hard skill competence and applicable courses. (table 3.)
- The results of a tracer study of BAGB graduates in 2016 – 2019 found that many graduates worked in banking and financial institutions, so the PS provided courses in banking management and cost management as elective courses first.
The BAGB curriculum offered at the beginning of the semester consists of basic theory, and applicable courses for the following semester. The total workload of BAGB students to complete bachelor degree is 180.32 in case the students take regular education path. Additionally, the students who take MBKM education path are 184.40 ECTS, as 20 credits from outside campus learning is fully practical.
